Hi there! I’m Mamath AKA Sam:

I am an artist based in Brisbane, making colourful illustrative art and fun (mostly) all-ages sequential art – comics! I would say my work is characterised by vibrant colour and dynamic linework!

I’ve also been the primary organiser of Comicstreet Indie Comics Fair for the past ten years. It’s Brisbane’s only original comics focused event and I hope to see it expand in the future.

I plan to 5 different comics to PCAF, as well as a small selection of original art, prints and stickers.

I have 4 currently complete and in-print comics and plan to finish at least one more by PCAF.

Dream Town – 21-page self-published comic
Very silly, fully wordless!
Cafe AU Lait comics anthology – 11 short stories by Australian artists centered on coffee shop romances
I co-hosted this book and contributed a 7-page short story
500 Billion Suns – 8-pager about the end of the world
Originally published in the Starrytellers anthology (which I also co-hosted!) but now a minicomic since the anthology is long sold out but I still like the story
Minion – a demon gets summoned out of his hot date
Very silly 6-page minicomic

Work in Progress:

Music for Wild Animals – actually a 24 hour comic attempt from years ago that I’m revising into a finished watercolour-painted comic


…as well as an informational minicomic about why Carbon is my favourite chemical element (and not only because it’s the building blocks of life!!).
